Our 2023 ADU Design Competition has concluded. We thank the energetic mGAP team,
our jurors and advisors, NJIT’s AIAS Freedom By Design, and especially our sponsors, AARP NJ and Partners for Health. Without them none of this would have been possible.
A design brief must capture a set of aspirations as well as specifications that
inspires and also equips potential contestants with:
- a shared vision
- credible property limitations
- zoning constraints
- understanding of human needs,
- understanding of environmental considerations
We are pleased that all of our competing architectural submissions addressed these 5 constraints. What distinguished the winning designs from the rest was the distinctive imagination each winning design brought to the process.
