Last Chance: August Is Make-A-Will Month

August is National Make-A-Will Month, and there are only a few days left to take care of something many of us keep putting off.

A will lets you decide how your property and belongings should be handled, who should carry out your wishes, and who should receive what you leave behind. Without an estate plan, state law determines how many of these matters are handled.

Already have a will? This is also a good time to review it. Marriage, divorce, a move, a new grandchild, the purchase of a home, or changes in your finances are all good reasons to make sure your documents still reflect your wishes.

Don’t let August end with “I’ll get around to it.”

Make-A-Will Month ends August 31. Take a little time now to create or review your will and make your wishes clear to the people you care about.
