Montclair Gateway to Aging in Place (mGAP) is today’s Senior Center for our digital world. Founded and operated by seniors, it serves as an agent for change. Using a virtual umbrella network, we provide connections to services, resources and feedback surveys that improve prospects for aging in place.
We constantly work to identify barriers to aging in place in order to encourage public policy to truly reflect our needs.
We believe that we — the third-agers— are the best judges of what we need and how to get it.
In cooperation with other community organizations, we work daily to bridge the gap between existing services and the real needs of our older residents to age in place.
We intend to deliver new services that speak to the common and diverse needs of seniors, who, no matter what race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation, share a common need to overcome isolation, engage in civic life, and access trusted information. A trusted digital resource will serve their interests…
